Welcome to the EVA8000 skinning site!

Welcome to the new site dedicated to bringing you tools, information, and skins for the NETGEAR EVA8000 media streamer. If you're here by mistake, you can find out more about the EVA8000 here or download the datasheet for it here

Standard rules apply - items here are provided for informational purposes only, and the sites owner accepts no responsibility for any content provided by others. If anything on this site is copyrighted to you, and you want it removed, just get in touch - g_man (at) evaskins (dot) co (dot) uk - and I will remove. If anything on this site harms your computer, EVA, hamster, lawn, or anything else, I'm afraid that I can't take responsibility. This site is not affiliated with NETGEAR themselves.
Other than that, hopefully you will find what you're looking for here. Skinning is a new feature for the EVA8000, and there's not a lot of content as yet - hopefully we can watch that change here.

Here are some helpful instructions from a moderator at the NETGEAR forum.

To add a skin, do the following:

1. From the main menu go to More > Supervisor functions > Advanced settings > Display and screensaver
2. Navigate over to "Skin settings." The current skin setting is called "Reflections" and is stored on the EVA8000's flash. Select the "Save skin" button to export the skin to the Data save location folder (set in the Advanced setting > Media library management menu).
3. Go to the machine/nas/usb share that you are using as your "Data Save Location." You should see a "skins" subfolder. Underneath that are subfolders for each skins defined. There should be one called "Reflections" that was created in step 2.
4. All that you have to do is to uncompress the skin you want and put together in its own subfolder.
5. From the main menu go to More > Supervisor functions > Advanced settings > Display and screensaver
6. Select the new skin from the drop down selection list and press the back button. The skin should load. There is a slight bug where the new selection bar is not loaded until you restart the EVA8000.
